Day 7-Nature Journal

I have been taking my dog for walks back behind my parents' house in New York. When I was growing up it was all wetlands and fields and we played back there. They have now completed a bunch of homes in a new development back there and more are on the way. There is a pond that I have been walking around that has a stand of cattails. I can't remember the last time I saw cattails in Virginia. I am sure that they are there somewhere but not where I have been. I brought one of the cattails back home and took it apart.

I ended up doing a little different page for my nature journal. I am happy how it turned out. Did you know that cattails are edible? I didn't know that until today!
