FeBIRDuary Day 17

I had a request from an email subscriber for a "rose finch". I had to do some sleuthing on this one. There appears to be a rose finch in Eurasia, but in North America a rose finch can be one of three finches-cassein's finch, house finch or a purple finch. I decided to go ahead a do a purple finch. I am sure I have seen this bird at my feeder but it looks very similar to a house finch. I will need to do some more research on how to properly identify the two.
