Hello Spring! My favorite time of year in Virginia. Not too hot yet and I feel inspired by everything becoming green again and blooming. Here's what has been going on:

Zentangle Retreat

I was fortunate to use my Spring Break from teaching to attend the 2022 Certified Zentangle Teacher Training in Newport, Rhode Island. For 4 days, I was instructed by Maria and Rick, the founders of Zentangle on basically everything Zentangle! I have been doing zentangles since 2016 and thought I knew a lot, but I really didn't. This is the first time I have been on an art retreat and I loved the energy in the room. My goals are now to immediately use what I learned with my elementary art students and to also incorporate more pattern work in my art. Here is a tile I did at retreat:

I am also hoping to record a Zentangle Introduction lesson where I guide virtual students through the creation of a tile. I will let you all know once I do that.
