Done! "Lance", Acrylic on gessobord, 11"x14"

I finally finished this commission piece of a dog that crossed over the rainbow bridge late last year.

This one was tough because the reference photos I was given were not very good. I tried to work off one of them and after several hours of painting realized it just wasn't going to happen with that photo. Asked the customer for some more photos.

I had to add colors that I imagined were there. If I didn't it would be not a very good painting of just gradual shading. I'm happy with how it turned out. It looks like him and I think you can see his personality through the painting. The customer was pleased and that's the most important thing.
